A gifted musician from the age of 13, first on piano then on the bass, Brian soon became a regular face on the Birmingham live music scene. After working and touring extensively with a number of top acts, Brian joined Elkie’s band in 2001.
His credits include work with Ruby Turner, The Steve Gibbons Band, Sheila Ferguson and Bernie Marsden to name just a few.
An accomplished musician in every genre, Brian is a font of musical knowledge. When not performing live, Brian also teaches music and supports his beloved West Bromwich Albion FC.

Newest member Melvin joined the band full time in 2008. His stellar reputation as a top session player has led him to work with a variety of stars including Sam Brown, Jools Holland, Solomon Burke, KT Tunstall, Joe Cocker, Leo Sayer and Robbie Williams.
Highly skilled on a number of stringed instruments such as the dobro and mandolin, Melvin is also one of the top pedal steel players in the UK
Alongside his work with Elkie, Melvin is a member of the hugely popular, live, Tex-Mex band Los Pacaminos featuring Paul Young and an array of top UK musicians.

After performing with Elkie at Ronnie Scott’s in 2005, initially as a guest musician, Steve was quickly asked to join the band full time.
A talented producer, songwriter and a sax player of immense ability and passion, Steve is also a founder member of the hotly tipped band, The Velvet Hearts. Their debut album was recently recorded in Detroit and they continue to receive critical acclaim for their electric live performances.
In 2008 Steve and Andrew Murray formed instrumental group, Cushion Head..

Having first worked with Elkie between 1988 and 1998, Andrew rejoined the band in 2007 and took his place back behind the keyboard.
A naturally gifted pianist from an early age, he is also a sought after music producer and songwriter having worked with a range of top names including Gary Barlow, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, Girls Aloud, Craig David and Natasha Bedingfield.
His most successful projects include 5 top ten singles, a european number one and even Grammy nominated albums in the USA.

Youngest band member Lee, has now been with the band for five years and is forever expanding on his many abilities.
As well as possessing a massive musical talent both vocal and instrumental, Lee is a gifted songwriter, recently penning the song Why for Elkie’s forthcoming album. He also works tirelessly booking and promoting the tour and taking care of so much behind the scenes.
Lee has also found the time to work with other acts including acclaimed jazz artist Liane Carroll and most recently Beverley Craven.

Having worked with Elkie for over twenty years, Mike is the longest serving member of the group and much loved by the band, crew and fans alike.
Aged just 16 years old, he began his professional career in 1965 as a member of the band Gulliver’s People. He went on to work for a variety of stars including Cilla Black, Freddie Star, Graham Gouldmam (10cc), Andrew Gold and Russ Ballard before joining Elkie's band in 1987.
Mike's musical talents extend to the guitar, bass, piano and harmonica. His musical heroes include Buddy Rich and his all time favourite, Bob Dylan.
